This LO is very precious for me as it is about how it all began, my “craftiness”.
It is about my grandmother who passed away last Christmas and a television show that she made for Swedish Television (SVT) and that I was also in.
She always had those ideas about crafty things to do with small means and SVT wanted to make a series of children programs about her little home made dolls “Strumpfilurer” and their houses and furniture.
The program was called “Kartonghuset” and was first sent in 1975.
Some of the journaling says (freely translated):
“During my childhood I have always done crafty things with my grandma, all from “Strumpfilurer”, via knitting, sewing to oil painting. “
“The trip went to Stockholm, and it was so exciting, too exiting when the wheel of my grandmas bag fell of and rolled in under beneath the train. “
“It was funny, boring, hard, exciting and an experience to make a television program recording.”
“It was my grandmother, Erik Fichtelius [later became a big profile within Swedish Television], Magnus and me Petra.”
“The idea was all my grandmothers. She always had those ideas of making things with no or small means. “
Soo I wanted to decorate with things that could be found at that time, in 1975. soma hama-beads, some knitted flowers, a news paper clip that made the announcement in the paper that the show was on, and last but not least, I made a miniature “Strumpfilur”-doll, the same as we made in the show.
The show is on Play-TV and can be found
